v  Display Seq#:  the sequence or sort order number provides a way to organize the available shipping method.

v  Description:  This is the Description the customer will see.

v  Shipping Address Required: yes, will force the customer to provide a shipping address.  No will allow them to place an order without supplying an address. Reasons you might have for this:

a)    You may have a pay-when-pickup method and not require the customer to fill in the address.

b)    You also could have a specialty store for a corporate customer whose employees do not need to supply an address.

v  Calculation Method: The calculation methods for UPS include the names of the UPS services. The customer does not see these descriptions.   They will see the description you provided above.

a)    Minimum charge + price per piece

b)    Percentage of order + minimum charge

c)    UPS Ground

d)    UPS 3 day select

e)    UPS Second Day Air

f)     UPS Next Day Air Saver

g)    UPS Next Day Air

v  Minimum Charge: the minimum charge will work with all the calculation as specified. For UPS calculation methods if the UPS calculation is less than the minimum, the minimum will be used.

v  Percentage Rate: this is used only with the calculation method “percentage of order + minimum charge.” If you fill in with any other calculation method it is merely ignored.  (Enter as 5.5 for 5.5%, maximum 2 decimal places)

v  Per Piece Rate: this is used only with the calculation method “minimum charge + price per piece.”  If you fill in with any other calculation method it is merely ignored.  (Cost Per Piece is added to minimum charge)

v  Handling Charge: Most people use this to help cover the cost shipping materials; boxes, tape, packing, etc… (Flat fee added to all shipping calculation methods)

v  Shipping Rate Override:

a)    If Order Total Greater than or Equal To: Use this to offer discounted or free shipping on orders over a certain dollar amount (excluding sales tax and includes discounts.) Leaving the amount at $0.00 will cause the override to be ignored; to override the amount must at least be $0.01.

b)    Then Charge this Flat Shipping Charge:  This is the flat shipping rate used when the override is applied.
