Deleting a Product

Changing Status/Deleting a product is simple.  To do so, simply click on the Change Status/Delete button in the top right area of the Maintain Product screen, this will open the In-Activate-Delete Product Window

 

 

Please read the area in blue on this window to fully understand what happens when you in-activate or delete a product.

 

You will have two drop down lists to choose from in order to in-activate/delete a product

v  Action To Be Taken

Ø  In-Activate: – Setting a Product to In-Active means you are removing the product from your list of product offerings, however it will remain in the products offered in an InActive Status. If this product is also configured on ShopKart, then the product will be updated on the ShopKart site to be “InActive”

Ø  Delete: – You will completely remove the product from your database, it will not be recoverable. As part of the deletion products, all orders that once referenced the product being deleted will be reassigned to the new product selected. If the product is linked to a ShopKart web store, then the product will also be deleted on the ShopKart Web Store.

Ø  Activate: – Changes the status of a product from In-Active to Active which re-activates a product that was once made in-active.  If the product is linked to a ShopKart Web Store, then the product status on the ShopKart web store will also be changed to “Active”

v  New Product – If you In-Activate or Delete a product, you must select a new product to Associate the deleted product or inactive product to. This will cause Order manager to move all Order Line items Associated with the product being deleted/in-activated to a new product to keep the integrity of the order history functioning properly.

 

When finished, click proceed to complete the change in status or deleting of a product.
